Carlos Sainz signs with Williams
Why I'm not surprised

The talk of the town in recent months has been, “where in the world is Carlos Sainz going to end up”. It was the most asked question with several news outlets reporting different teams and angles for Sainz. However, it was announced that Carlos Sainz will be continuing his formula 1 career with Williams racing.
Now if you remember back to my silly season predictions, I predicted that the spaniard would be going to the British outfit so this news is unsurprising to me. This was as to me Carlos was unfortunately dealt a really bad hand since it was announced that Hamilton would be taking Sainz’s place at Ferrari. He was always destined to sign with a team lower than his current team. As both Mercedes and Red Bull had their sights set on other drivers outside of the Spaniard.
With Toto Wolff even stating “We believe that Sainz deserves a top seat” however, confirmed that Mercedes were not in the hunt for Carlos.
The Williams line up for 2025 looks like an extremely solid one, with both Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon having experience with teams at the front of the grid. Using this experience, I believe that both drivers would be able help make Williams turn from a back-marker team to hopefully a mid-field/ front-runner.
The puzzle pieces are slowly coming together for the 2025 F1 Grid, and with many other rumours starting to come out, I believe that we will have more confirmed seats of the summer break!
